In continuation of my letter No. 446 of the 24th August last,
I have the honour to submit the following statement with regard to the new items appearing in these Estimates for Public Works Extraordinary.
Provision has been made to the extent of $22,000 for establishing Police stations at Sheung Shui and Jai O throughout the city and populous portions of Hongkong.
In the Estimates for the current year provision was made for erecting two Police Stations in the New Territory at Sha Tau Kok and Tai O.
The Captain Superintendent of Police afterwards considered however that such accommodation was urgently required at Sheung Shui and Jai O and accordingly...
The Honourable The Colonial Secretary.
